Abstract:

Excitation energies of collective 1+ Δ(1232)-hole states, which are responsible for the quenching of Gamow-Teller transitions, are estimated with a zero-range force. The coupling constant is determined from the observed Gamow-Teller resonance states. The collective states are expected to be at an excitation energy of about 340 ∼350 MeV.
