L Mixing and D-State Effects in (d, α) Reactions

Abstract:
It is shown that the tensor analyzing powers of ( d, α) reactions to states of unnatural parity J values are specially sensitive to the effect of the α-particle D-state and to the mixing of the L = J - 1 and L = J + 1 transitions. In particular they can be used to determine the sign of the two-nucleon cluster spectroscopic amplitudes.
