Abstract:

It is proved that, in so far as the Skyrmion exists, the Skyrme Lagrangian gives another soliton solution with the Hopf index H=1. The Hopf soliton is interpreted as a kind of composite of a Skyrmion and an anti-Skyrmion. Its mass and radius are given by those of the Skyrmion.
