Abstract:

High energy NN and NN scattering amplitudes and unpolarized and polarized elastic cross sections are expressed in terms of the pole-residues and trajectories of the exchanged Regge poles. By comparing pole-residues at t = 0 with coupling constants of ρ- and ω-meson with nucleon, signs of pole-residues at t = 0 are found to be the same as those at t = µρ2 or µω2, and t-dependence of pole-residues is found to be small for t ≥0. An experiment to test the Regge pole hypothesis is proposed.
