A New Triangle Relation for Nonleptonic Hyperon Decay Amplitudes as a Consequence of the Octet Spurion and the R Symmetry

Hirotaka Sugawara

Department of Physics, University of Tokyo, Tokyo

(Received October 22, 1963)

Abstract:

A triangle relation TΛ=2TΞ-+√3TΣ0 is obtained for the nonleptonic decay amplitudes of Λ→p-, Σ+p0 and Ξ-→Λ+π-. This relation is shown to be in excellent agreement with the experiment especially when γΣ+p0>0. The assumptions are the octet spurion hypothesis and the R symmetry.
