Compositeness Conditions and the Indefinite Nature of the Self-Mass

Abstract:

Compositeness conditions are investigated in the Green's function approach with particular attention to the self-mass. It is shown that there exist two cases in which the conditions Z3 = 0 and Z3·δµ2 = 0 hold. One of them defines the compositeness of a particle, and the other gives the limiting process of Gerstein and Deshpande. The latter process does not lead to the composite solution, but to the intermediate one. The self-mass is found to be indefinite when Z3 = 0.
