Abstract:

In terms of the O(4) symmetry, the strong decay of φ→ρπ, KK and the weak decay of Ξ→Λπ, Λ→πN are studied by taking into account the particle mixing arising from a contribution of the symmetry breaking interaction.
A selection rule on G'-parity, (parity for a new kind of an extended charge conjugation) is successfully applied to the strong decay of mesons 1- and 2+. The observed decay modes of the G'-parity-violating transitions are attributed to the effects of the symmetry breaking interaction and the particle mixing.
