Correction to One-Particle-Exchange Contribution and Two-Body Reaction at High Energy

Abstract:

Two-body reactions at high energies are investigated by using a model in which some of assumptions used in the absorption model are removed. Our model can avoid the difficulty of energy dependence in the absorption model and moreover includes contributions from inelastic intermediate states. The energy dependence of the cross section for a two-body reaction comes essentially from the difference of the related two elastic scatterings. Qualitative discussions are given for general processes and the quantitative estimate of the cross section for π- p →K0 Λ is presented.
