Abstract:
Hadronic scattering amplitudes, particularly dual and diffractive amplitudes, are investigated on the basis of the quark model. In a model which guarantees the linearly rising mass formula (M2∝J) and the level structure derived from the non-relativistic quark model (SU(6)⊗O(3)), dual amplitudes are derived under a certain condition for the internal dynamics. It is shown that dual property is due to the composite structure of hadrons, that is, correlations of the internal spatial freedom of hadrons. From the same standpoint, the diffractive amplitude is studied. In our model, however, dual and diffractive amplitudes are described in a non-factorizable picture. Dipole dependence of the electromagnetic form factor of the nucleon is also discussed.
