Abstract:

The solutions of the scalar ladder model of the Bethe-Salpeter equation are obtained for the case of Pµ=0 but of general L (magnitude of Lorentz angular momentum). The solutions are obtained in a form of a single dispersion integral of superconvergent type, the absorptive part of which can be expressed as a rapidly convergent power series in λ, the coupling constant. The eigenvalues λL's are determined as the zeros of an entire function for each L. The asymptotic form of the solutionsis clarified. Numerical results are obtained for L=0 and for the ground and the first excited states and compared with that of zur Linden.
