Abstract:

The phase volume effects on the gross structure of high energy multiple productions are analysed by means of analytical and numerical calculations. It is shown that those modified phase volume distributions which are obtained by restricting t-variables within the region |ti| \lesssim1(GeV/c)2 can fairly well reproduce the gross structure of experimental distributions. In particular, the invariant mass distribution of a subgroup of secondary particles, the one-particle energy-momentum distribution, and the energy dependence of the total cross section with a difinite multiplicity are analysed in detail. The fire ball model and the assumption of the scaling law or the limiting fragmentation are briefly discussed on the t-cut phase volume analysis.
