Abstract:
One-particle exchanges of spin J, strongly absorbed by suppressing low partial waves, are explicitly summed from J = 1 to ∞ by the Sommerfeld-Watson method. In the resulting high energy elastic (nondiffractive) amplitude, f ∝ sα-1/2 \hatJ0(R√-t), the presence of the Bessel-like function of momentum transfer is wholly due to the absorption. A linear mass trajectory and vanishing widths for the exchanged boson resonances are preferred.
