Abstract:

Elastic and inelastic two-body (πN, KN, KN, NN and NN) scattering is investigated by using the following amplitude corresponding to the pattern of the urbaryon rearrangement diagram: the H-type (s-t dual) amplitude fHΔλiJΔλ(b0√-t) - JΔλ+1(b0√-t) and the X-type (t-u dual) amplitude fXΔλ ∼-{J2Δλ(b0√-t) + J2Δλ+1(b0√-t)}1/2 where Δλ denotes the helicity change. These forms come from the effective resonance, or the resonance correlation subject to generalized Ogawa's rule of a constant impact parameter b0. Two degrees of freedom of the counting scheme of the urbaryon rearrangement diagram in the framework of SU(3) symmetry are combined with the helicity change in the way suggested from a duality interpretation of the urbaryon rearrangement diagram. This counting scheme together with the above form of the amplitude of the Bessel type offers a satisfactory over-all agreement with experiment in a forward region -t \lesssim2 GeV2. The value of b0 is found to be 4.5/GeV for meson-baryon scattering and 5.5/GeV for NN and NN scattering.
