The Parton Model: Elastic and Inelastic Form Factors of Hadrons

Abstract:

On the basis of the idea that hadrons consist of more fundamental particles whose transverse momenta are sharply cut off at k in the hadron, three physical regions are classified. In particular a new condition is added to the Drell-Levy Yan conditions for the validity of the parton model. Based on the above analysis, explicit forms of the electromagnetic form factors of all mesons and baryons are given and moreover it is shown that νW2n = νW2p in the region where the parton model holds, at least in regard to the data available at present.
