Abstract:
A method of calculating α-transfer form factors and α-widths will shell-model wave functions is presented and applied to the α-pick-up and the α-stripping on 16O leading to the so-called ground-state rotational bands of 12C and 20Ne, respectively. In the case of 20Ne, the DWBA analyses of (6Li, d) reactions and the observed α-widths seem to indicate that the shell model with (sd)4 configuration does not sufficiently describe the α-clusterization of this nucleus, and it is necessary to introduce an additional α-like correlation due to the mixing of higher configurations.
