Abstract:
The interaction of the string model is studied further following the idea proposed in a previous paper [Prog. Theor. Phys. 47 (1972), 2090] where we have assumed that the breaking and connection of strings give rise to the interaction. The general vertex operator is obtained by making use of coherent states. This simplifies the calculation of scattering amplitudes. As an application of the general vertex operator, we calculate scattering amplitudes in the crossed channel.
