Abstract:

The photon-induced inclusive reaction γ+p→π-+ anything is investigated in the beam fragmentation region on the basis of the Regge pole exchange model. It is shown that the π-Reggeon exchange mechanism reproduces both the absolute magnitude and the shape of the experimental cross section satisfactorily. This mechanism also well expalins the observed azimuthal angular correlation between the produced π- and the linear polarization vector of the incident photon.
