Abstract:

We formulate the peripheral collision in terms of the Sommerfeld-Watson transformation of direct channel partial waves. Our amplitude has many nice properties. Among other things it has a dip at constant u if the u channel is exotic although our model has nothing to do with the B-function model. The forward and the backward peak appear naturally at high energy while the lower energy amplitude shows a complicated resonance structure. We take K-pK0n as an example and obtain an excellent fit to differential cross sections over all angles in the energy region from PL=777 MeV to 2.25 GeV.
