Bound States Due to a Pair of Interacting Magnetic Impurities in Metals

The bound states of conduction electrons due to a pair of magnetic impurities interacting via an exchange interaction are investigated by the Yosida theory within the zeroth approximation. The binding energy is obtained as a function of the distance between impurities and the strength of the exchange interaction between them. Though the result shows some unphysical features caused by the approximation, it gives a qualitatively reasonable interpolation among some limiting cases where the exact result is obtainable.
