A Theory of Local Environment Effect on the Electronic Structure in Disordered Alloys

Abstract:

The idea of the coherent potential approximation is extended to include local environment effect within the framework of single-site approximation. Expressions are derived for the site Green function for the central atom with each specific atomic composition of its nearest neighbor shell, from which one can calculate the distribution of local quantities in alloys. Some features of the environment effect is discussed on simple model calculations.
