Abstract:

The high energy behavior for photon (meson)-nucleon total cross sections is studied from a combined viewpoint of the light-cone dominance and eN-data. It is shown that the high energy behavior is described by the contribution from the leading light-cone singularities, if suitable scale-breaking masses are introduced. The scale-breaking masses are regarded as the effective quark masses characteristic of the kind of interacting fields. The effective quark mass for electromagnetic interaction is found to be the same as M / µp, where M and µp are the mass magnetic moment of a proton.
