Abstract:

A phenomenological amplitude for pp elastic scattering is proposed on the basis of the linear rising of σT in s logarithm. It can well describe the behaviour of dσ/dt in the forward region. The requirement that σT and the slope parameter b(s,t)|t=0 have a similar energy dependence plays an essential role. The application of the variable n2 instead of t proves to be very effective to prescribe the behaviour at ISR energies making use of the information at lower energies.
