Abstract:

Developing a systematic method of investigating parameter dependence of the air shower, model-dependent features of the air shower are discussed. Instead of introducing specific proposed models of the high energy nuclear interactions, an artificial production spectrum is assumed as generally as possible with a little regard to experimental deta. Of the fundamental properties of air showers the transition curve is taken up for discussion. As a first step, average behaviour of the nuclear active component is analyzed. Importance of the inelasticity in nuclear collisions is pointed out conclusively. Analysis of the other components and fluctuation problem will be discussed in the subsequent papers.
