Abstract:
The effect of the Pauli principle on the nuclear reactions of a five-nucleon system is investigated in a presence of a breakup channel, by using the resonating group method (RGM). The microscopic treatment of full exchange effects for the 4He(p,d)3He reaction is examined together with the p-4He and d-3He elastic scatterings. It is shown that the exchange effect (especially owing to the Pauli principle) plays an important role in the differential cross section in te backward region. The state- and energy-dependence of the interaction between two clusters can be explained by means of this exchange effect. The characteristic structure of the differential cross section for the 4He(p,d)3He reaction can be also explained by means of both the neutron pick-up and deuteron pick-up processes.
