Abstract:

On the basis of the new formalism of the collective description of a many-boson system developed in a previous paper,1) new creation and annihilation operators for elementary excitations are introduced. When the system is written in terms of these operators, every interaction term in the Hamiltonian gives finite results for physical quantities in contrast with the interaction in the old formalism.2) The roton-roton interaction is reinvestigated on the basis of the present formalism to obtain the effective coupling-constants in the same order of magnitude with experimental ones.
