Abstract:

The two-component model for particle production is modified by taking into account the effects of the increase of σinel at high energies. In this model, the average multiplicity not only for nondiffractive production but also for diffraction depends on energy. It is shown that experimental results for the multiplicity distributions in p-p and K+-p collisions can be explained well by our model.
