Abstract:
It is proved that the free energy of an extremely anisotropic n-vector model in which only a finite number, k say, of spin components are allowed to interact, is identical to that of the Curie-Weiss (or mean-field) spherical model, or equivalently an extremely anisotropic spherical model considered by Lieb and Thompson, in the limit n →∞ with k fixed.
