Abstract:

Equation of state of pure neutron gas at finite temperature is investigated with the aid of the extended method of the Brueckner theory (the low temperature case) and the virial expansion method (the high temperature case). Computations are worked out for the regions of the temperature 1 MeV<T<50 MeV and the density 1012.5 g/cm3<ρ<1014.5 g/cm3, in which regions imploding supernova cores run. By this overall examination from the low to high temperature the behavior of the equation of state of the high density matter is made clear. As a result, it is found that these exists an approximate equation of state adequate for practical uses.
