Abstract:
Both linear and quadratic mass-formulas are applied to vector-mesons
and pseudoscalar-mesons. We find that the linear mass-formula must be
applied to vector-mesons in order to explain the small hadronic decay
width of J/φ through the small mixture of ordinary
quark-antiquark pairs in J/ψ.
If the linear mass-formula is also applied to pseudoscalar-mesons,
we find (i) M(F) > M(F*) and (ii) M(ηc) ≧2.80 GeV.
The hadronic decay widths of ηc and γ-decay widths of
J/ψ are also discussed.
