Abstract:

It is shown in the Schwinger model that the Lowenstein-Swieca solution can be reproduced from the solution expressed in terms of asymptotic fields if one introduces some constant operators independent of the asymptotic fields. The Lorentz generator of the Lowenstein-Swieca solution is explicitly constructed. The topological vacua of the Schwinger model are shown to be either Lorentz non-invariant or of totally ad hoc nature.
