Abstract:

We investigate ψ's →e+e- decays in a relativistic composite particle model for cc bound states. Our model includes two assumptions: (1) To use the relativistic harmonic oscillator wave functions to describe inner orbital motions of cc. (2) The existence of S-D mixing force as a perturbation. We can reproduce the experimental values over all e+e- decays of ψ's including recently discovered ψ(3.772), in which ψ(4.414) and ψ(3.772) are identified with the cc bound states whose dominant components are 23D1 (unlike the ordinary assignment) and 13D1, respectively. Furthermore, we predict another resonance whose dominant component is 33S1: mass ∼4.2 GeV, Γe+e- ∼3 keV.
