Hadron-Hadron Collisions at Large Transverse Momenta in the New Type of Quark Cascade Model. II

— Meson-Proton Collisions —

Abstract:

The large P_T meson-proton reactions are analyzed in terms of the same meson-meson hard scattering model as that used in analyzing large P_T pp reactions, using the constituent distribution functions in hadron and the decay functions calculated by the new type of quark cascade model which gives good agreement with the experimental inclusive spectra in forward hadron-hadron collisions. In our model the constituent distribution functions in meson are calculated by quark cascade model unambiguously, keeping the same values of our original parameters. So our model does not contain ambiguity coming from the constituent distribution functions in meson. The single particle invariant cross section at 90°, the x_// dependence of the single particle cross section at fixed transverse momentum for the reaction π^-p →π⁰X and the beam ratios σ(pp →π⁰X) / σ(π^-p →π⁰X) etc. at 90° and 30° show good agreement with the experimental data.
