A Comment on Spontaneous Breaking of Chiral Symmetry

Abstract:

Making use of the vacuum stability condition, we derive a restriction for the spontaneous breaking of chiral symmetry in a kind of gauge model of weak, electromagnetic and strong interactions. It is shown that any spontaneous breaking of strong interaction symmetry does not break down the natural conservations of P, C, S etc. This fact also shows that the domain structure discussed by Dashen and Mathur-Okubo does not arise in gauge theory of quark-gluon system.
