Abstract:
Nonlinear realization of general covariance group is considered on the basis of the invariant variation theory. A second-rank symmetric traceless tensor, a vector and a scalar field are introduced as Goldstone fields, and their couplings with matter are uniquely determined through “minimal” covariant derivative. The general form of the free Lagrangian for the Goldstone fields can also be fixed up to three parameters, two of which correspond to the gravitational coupling constant and the cosmological constant. The resulting theory is the gravitational theory with symmetric tetrad and torsion.
