Abstract:

As the origin of hot intracluster gas in X-ray clusters, both the primordial gas with no heavy elements and the ejected gas from cluster galaxies with cosmic abundance are considered. The dynamical evolution of these two-component gases is calculated by means of time-dependent numerical hydrodynamics.
We assume that initially, only the primordial gas exists, and then the gas with iron of cosmic abundance is injected at a constant rate. The flow pattern of the mixed gas depends upon the amount of pre-existing primordial gas and the temperature of injected gas.
From the computational results, the distributions of iron abundance and of equivalent width of iron line emissions are deduced and compared with the observational results. On the basis of our model the upper limits of pre-existing primordial gas density and its fraction in the present intracluster gas are discussed. Some remarks on the future problems are also given.
