Abstract:
The 16O+16O interaction is systematically investigated from the microscopic viewpoint within the framework of the resonating group method. The nuclear saturation properties of the 16O+16O system and the 32S nucleus are examined to search the effective two-nucleon forces appropriate to the study of the relative motion. The scattering states up to Ecm=60MeV are studied as well as the bound and resonant states. The characteristics of the interaction are extracted from the results. Especially the damping of the inner oscillation amplitude and the weak attractive effects in the interactive region are considered quantitatively. The calculated phase shifts are applied to the excitation functions and the differential cross sections by adopting the smooth cutoff model. The results are in good agreement with the experimental data.
