Abstract:
The properties of asymptotic fields are fully analysed for the SU(2) Higgs-Kibble model with spontaneous symmetry breaking in covariant gauges. A general procedure to determine the symmetry transformations induced on asymptotic fields is presented for an arbitrary conserved charge. On the basis of the derived formula, the explicit asymptotic forms of QB and QC are obtained.
