Abstract:

Inclusive vector meson production processes pp→ρ0,φ and JX are analyzed considering both OZI preserving and violating mechanisms based on (i) quark diagram for Mueller amplitude (ii) SU(4) quark counting and (iii) the whole-region formula for one-particle distribution function. It is shown that if the SU(4) breaking mechanism is estimated from the recent data of total cross sections of vector meson proton interactions, OZI preserving mechanisms in φ and J/ψ productions are small components and OZI violating mechanisms are dominant from low to high energies in them. The magnitudes of OZI violating transitions are larger than the values analyzed by Randa-Donnachie from the decay processes as pointed out by Einhorn-Ellis and Frautschi-Pakvasa-Tuan. At the same time the productions of D0, ψ(3.7) and Υ(9.5) are analyzed in the same framework.
