Phase Separations Accompanied by Magnetic Ordering in Binary Mixtures of Paramagnetic Atoms

Abstract:

By applying the symmetry breaking potential method to the grand canonical ensemble, phase separations related to the atomic and magnetic orderings in paramagnetic binary mixtures are studied in the mean field approximation and the global diagrams are investigated. The tetracritical phenomena and the coexistence of four different phases occur under suitable conditions. The results are discussed by conferring the information on the Potts-Kihara model and some discussion on the orientational phase transitions in molecular crystals is made in the light of present results.
