Abstract:

High energy neutrinos of 1012 ∼1016eV may be generated during a few months after the birth of a pulsar, through the nuclear collisions of high energy particles generated at the pulsar with dense envelope matter. The permissible maximum flux of such neutrinos is estimaed phenomenologically under a constraint that the flux of the particles ejected into the Galactic pool does not exceed the observed flux of the Galactic cosmic rays. For reasonable choices of the parameters, the neutrino flux is too small to be detectable by the DUMAND project.
