Abstract:

We propose that the effect of the medium strong symmetry breaking interaction on the hadronic electromagnetic processes can be taken into account by working with an octet-dominant effective electromagnetic Hamiltonian transforming as S11+bS22 in SU(3). This simple prescription suffices to explain most of the data on the radiative decays. The analysis prescription suffices to explain most of the data on the radiative decays. The analysis presents a strong case for the accurate measurement of Γ(K*0K0γ) and of the ratio Γ(K*+K+γ)/Γ(K*0K0γ). We extend the symmetry breaking formalism to the SU(4)-charm scheme.
