Gauge Wheel of Superfluids

Josephson equation in rotating vessels is derived, in a unified way both for 4He-II and 3He-A, by explicitly taking account of the effect of rotation. Although the equation thus obtained for 3He-A is similar to those of previous authors, the physical meaning of each term in the equation is determined without ambiguity. It is pointed out, in particular, that the chemical potential can have dependence on ω (angular velocity), that one can find the value of the partial angular momentum (∂L0/∂N)T through Gauge Wheel effect, and also that our equation includes effects non-linear in the rotating frequency.
