Abstract:

The effective potential of the conformal-invariant massless Φ4 theory in which the invariance is nonlinearly realized is calculated by means of nonpolynomial Lagrangian techniques. It is shown that the scaling law (Ward identity of dilatation current) which is compatible with the perturbation expansion is obtained only when a special form of the point transformations is applied to the fields. It gives a well-defined expression to the tadpole graph. The spontaneous mass is given by the potential in the case when the coupling constant is small and negative.
