Abstract:

The weak radiative decays of 1/2+ baryons are analyzed by considering the decay BB'+ γ as a process S+BB'+ γ and assuming besides CP-invariance, (i) non-exoticity of the intermediate states and (ii) the s-u channel symmetry of the weak Hamiltonian. Decay rates and asymmetry parameters of charmed and uncharmed decays are calculated. We propose measurement of asymmetries for Ξ- →Σ- γ and Ξ0 →Σ0 γ in order to elucidate the structure of weak nonleptonic Hamiltonian.
