Effect of a Homogeneous Magnetic Field on Antiferromagnetic Superconductors in One-Dimensional Model. II

Abstract:

The effect of a homogenous magnetic field, H0, and a staggered magnetic field, HQ, (arising from antiferromagnetism) on superconductivity is investigated in the case H0HQ by extending our previous work treated in the case H0 // HQ. By studying the ground state and the second order phase transition temperature in a mean field theory, it is shown that H0 has an additive effect of destroying the superconducting state in the presence of HQ. The critical field, Hc, is calculated in the cases where both H0HQ and H0 // HQ.
