A Justification of the Band Crossing Model

Abstract:

An existence of molecular bands and their crossing are shown in the 12C + 16O system by a semi-microscopic treatment of interaction between heavy ions. The speculation is disproved that the band crossing model is not applicable to systems involving the strongly deformed 12C nucleus.
