Anderson Localization and Ginzburg-Landau Equations in Two-Dimensional Superconductors

Abstract:

Effects of the Anderson localization on the Ginzburg-Landau equations in two-dimensional superconductors are examined. The renormalization effects of the electron-electron interaction by the impurity potential lead logarithmic temperature dependences in the coefficients of the Ginzburg-Landau equations. By using these results, temperature dependences in the energy gap |Δ|, the number density of the superconducting electrons ns and the upper critical field Hc2 are also discussed.

    This work shows that contrary to the results given in Ref. 5), the pair-breaking terms do not contribute appreciably to the corrections in Tc. A similar study was also done independently by S. Maekawa and H. Fukuyama, J. Phys. Soc. Jpn. 51 (1982), 1380[JPSJ].
