Two Theorems for Time-Dependent Dynamical Systems

Abstract:
We prove two theorems for certain classes of second order ordinary differential equations that model many time-dependent dynamical systems. The theorems reveal an inherent relatedness between an equation of motion, an auxiliary equation and a third (autonomous) equation. From this relatedness follow several features of time-dependent systems.
