Excitation Function for Meson Production by γ-Ray

Abstract:

The excitation function for the production of π-meson by γ-ray is calculated by the Lorentz-covariant perturbation method, taking into account of the effect of higher orders. For the π0-meson production, various features have been obtained according to the theories adopted, while for the charged π-meson production, nearly similar dependence of cross section upon the incident photon energy has unanimously been obtained.
