Abstract:

Theory of positrons in an electron gas is presented, based on the fact that positron and plasmon couple together to construct a soliton bag state. The effective mass of a thermalized positron is calculated and the results agree extremely well with the experimental value. It is interpreted that the soliton plays an important role in determining in the motion of positrons in metals.
